Bright Beginnings is seeking to hire a UPK Education director/ Lead Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. An ideal candidate holds a passion for educating and having a positive impact on young scholars. Our program aims to provide a nurturing environment conducive to learning and growing independently.

Education/certification

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Required)

NYS teaching certification in Birth-Grade 2

At least 2 years teaching experience in Early Childhood

CPR/First Aid certification

Job Description

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate and curriculum-based weekly unit plans and daily lesson plans.

Oversee and maintain the implementation of high-quality programming with evidence-based curricular and child outcomes, including lesson planning, observations, portfolios, and Parent/Teacher conferences

Supervise children at all times, ensuring safety and well-being.

Consistently provide stimulating activities that will support children’s emotional, intellectual and social development.

Collaboratively work with Assistant teacher.

Accept supervision.

Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and staff training.

Communicate effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback.

Cooperate successfully and professionally as a member of a team.

Collaborate and offer ideas and materials with co-workers.

Collaborate with parents to encourage and promote understanding of growth and development of their child; effectively communicate with parents, verbally and in writing, throughout the year.

Maintain accurate record keeping including scholar attendance, developmental progress, and daily health checks.

Maintain an organized classroom and facility. Take responsibility for the upkeep of educational equipment, materials, and the appearance of the facility.
